A severe storm blew over Bute and the farm during the night of 02.01.2012.
As the pictures below show, there was quite a bit of damage.
Poor old Dougal the Springer chewed his way out of the byre in fright. No wonder…
The wind had whipped away the roof over the old barn and stables
A close up shows some of the damage
Or from a different angle
And from the yard
The garage didn’t escape either
The march wall between Ascog and the Landmark Trust also suffered
Further up the hill three large beech trees were felled
With one big root ball upended
Shallow rooted because they’re on rock
It seems that the wind blows strongly over Ascog Farm.
