After a bit of growing, in their second year and beyond, the sheep are sorted for shearing…

And we end up with fleeces…

The fleeces get bagged up (into ‘woolsacks’ – ever seen a pub with that name?) and sent off to the mill…

From there the yarn is sent off to independent, traditional weavers – either our friends at the London Cloth Company or Scalpay Linen in the Outer Hebrides…

Yarn can be woven into products such as blankets…
