Ascog Farm’s sheep flock now numbers some 300-odd and growing!
Shetland Sheep come in a wide variety of colours and markings, and their natural, undyed fleeces are used to make our range of fashionable woollen products.
In 2010 the Shetlands were joined by pedigree Hebridean Sheep, partly as exercise for Joe’s sheepdogs and partly for the excellent jet-black fleece (growing greyer with age) that they throw off.
Later additions to the Shetlands have included Lleyn-Cheviot and Herdwick varieties, along with Texels, all reared primarily for their tasty meat.
